Does anyone have the feeling that excessive use of technology in classrooms can have a negative impact?

I am taking an online class about wikkis through Pbworks.com. It is free and it is awesome. I was not aware that there are so many wonderful media teaching tools--most are free. I cannot brag enough on how wonderful a wikki can be in a classroom--it safely allow kids to correspond with each other as well as kids from other countries who are invited. The wikki provides kids with the opportunity to safely learn about computer technology. As to negative impact---nothing is ever 100% positive--but I think one would have to work hard to make the technology that I've studying in my wikki camp negative. Check out www.pbworks.com --You can sign up for the next 4-wk camp that starts in early August--its free--and you can check out anytime you wish. Do wait until after the 2nd week--that is when all the media is presented. Janice VanCleave FYI: you are welcome to contact me at: ASKVANCLEAVE@aol.com
