I am a math teacher for an alternative high school and am interested in any ideas other teachers may have for topics, textbooks, technology, etc. The school year is broken into 4 quarters in which I may have some of the same students several quarters in a row or not. Students are always graduating or starting so I don't have a consistent bunch of students each quarter to continue what I started the last quarter. I also have a wide range of abilities in each class but the classes are small (10 students max.) I may have some students for a year and a half before they are ready to graduate. We teach in 2-hour blocks. I am interested in project ideas or a block of ideas I could do for a quarter (9 weeks). I also need to meet the State Standards in math. I have laptops, wireless, and TI-83 calculators available.
In addition to teaching alternative students, I design and teach online math classes to students in more rural areas of the panhandle.
Any ideas for either would be appreciated!

I currently teach Algebra 3/Trigonometry for lower-level seniors, Geometry, 1 for upper level sophomores and 1 for lower level sophomores, and AP Statistics. I also teach at a local community college where I teach both developmental mathematics classes.
